Official: Luka Jović Joins Real Madrid
The Serbian striker joins the Spanish giants for a fee of $67 mil until 2025. Despite reaching an agreement several weeks ago, finalizing the deal saw a delay with the two clubs disagreeing on the fee.
However, Jović is officially a part of the massive rebuild many expect to take place at Madrid over the summer. The 21 year old joins Éder Militão and Rodrygo as the list of new players in Los Blancos’ dressing room.
Following them should be the much anticipated signing of Eden Hazard in the coming days with a deal already being in place with Chelsea. Additionally, rumors suggest Lyon’s Ferland Mendy is close to a deal as well.
Luka Jovic began his career with Red Star Belgrade before transferring to Benfica. Later being loaned to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2017, the young striker joined the German club permanently in May.
Luka’s tally for Eintracht this season is 27 goals in 47 appearances, taking the club all the way to the semifinals of the Europa league before finally exiting on penalties at the hands of Hazard’s Chelsea.
At the moment, Jovic is seen as a long term replacement for Karim Benzema in Madrid. Head coach Zinedine Zidane will hope the two form an excellent partnership to the benefit of the team.
As a result, Mariano Diaz is likely to exit the Spanish capital. As well as Castilla products Raul de Tomas and Borja Mayoral in what is a long list of talent finding new clubs this summer.
