Eusebio Di Francesco Is Front Runner To Take Over Sevilla
Sevilla are close to appointing former Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco on a two-year contract.
Additionally, the Italian strategist would be reunited with sporting director Monchi, who last season left the club midway.
After their dismissal from the Europa League at the hands of Slavia Praha, Pablo Machin was sacked from his position.
At the moment, Joaquin Caparros is serving as the Sevilla’s interim boss.
Nonetheless, the Spaniard also continues to hold the title of Director of Football.
Meanwhile, Di Francesco has been managing for over a decade. He was at Italian side Sassuolo for over 200 matches until his jump to Roma in 2017.
During the 2018 Champions League season, he led the club to the semifinals. One of his biggest successes was the come from behind win over Barcelona.
However, a hard task awaits the former Roma boss. Sevilla ended their season in sixth place and will have to conquer, or at the very least, get to the semifinals of the Europa League.
Nothing less of a top four finish would get him fire as well in his first season.
