Doubts Around Kylian Mbappe’s Future At PSG

Kylian Mbappe hints at a possible exit from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 20-year-old was named as Ligue 1’s player of the season last Sunday. However, during his acceptance speech, he said he wanted to be given “more responsibility”, either at PSG or elsewhere.

“It’s a very important moment for me, I come to a turning point in my career.

“I have discovered a lot here, and I feel it is perhaps the moment to have more responsibility.

“I hope that can maybe be at Paris St Germain, that would be a great pleasure. Or perhaps elsewhere with a new project.”

Mbappe joined PSG in 2017 from Monaco for 180 million euros. Additionally, since his move over to Paris, there was a huge linkage between the player and Real Madrid.

It had been said that Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, has been keen on acquiring Mbappe since his time in Monaco. However, the player chose PSG over Real Madrid as he was promised a competitive team for Champions and a chance at winning the Ballon d’Or.

Two years later and after having won the 2018 World Cup in Russia with France, the French international opens the door, once again.

Additionally, there is a known admiration from both Mbappe for Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane. The admiration is mutual between the two.

Mbappe has won three consecutive Ligue 1 titles but has yet to reach a Champions finals.

This year, alone, Mbappe scored 32 league goals for PSG.

What Will PSG Will Do?

Despite an early exit from Champions, Mbappe has pledged his future with PSG.

However, PSG has started talks to extend the contract of Mbappe, as reported by the Telegraph.

Many believe that this is just a strategy that the player is using to get a better contract.

Nonetheless, an exit of the player from PSG will be devastating for the club.

He currently is PSG’s main figure, more so than Neymar Jr.
