Charlotte Flair Engaged?
During WrestleMania weekend, former RAW and SmackDown Live Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair, finally let us all in on a little secret. She finally showed the world that she was indeed dating fellow Superstar, Andrade Cien Almas. Of course, that had been rumored a bit prior to them showing up at the Hall of Fame Ceremony, hand in hand. Regardless, it appears the couple is doing quite well.
Charlotte had posted a few photos on her Instagram with her new beau, clearly on vacation. By her posts, it seems they enjoyed each other’s company in the Dominican Republic. Insiders say that at events, the pair have been inseparable. Others go on to say that she’s the whole reason he was moved back to SmackDown Live.
Shortly after ‘Mania weekend, TMZ reported that the couple might be moving quite quickly. That’s because Charlotte was spotted wearing a ring on that finger. However, Charlotte recently set the record straight with Pro Wrestling Sheet. There, she stated very matter-of-fact, they are definitely not engaged:
“Don’t believe everything you read online. Unless you read that I’m the most decorated women’s wrestler ever, because that is a fact. No, we are not currently engaged.”
Sasha Banks Update
Well, The Boss has seemingly taken some time away from the company since her loss, alongside Bayley, to the IIconics at WrestleMania. But according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, an upcoming return isn’t looking likely anytime soon.
“The situation is unchanged,” he says. “Word is if she wants to sit out the rest of her contract, then she can sit out the rest of her contract.”
It is unclear when Sasha’s contract actually expires, but she could be watching wrestling from the comfort of her own home for a long while. WWE can “freeze” a contract during injury or a walk-out. The latter was a situation that happened with former Cruiserweight Champion, Neville. Neville had to wait out nearly a year to be formally released from the WWE and able to wrestle with other promotions.
Of course, WWE has granted early releases. As far as Sasha Banks goes, however, that is extremely unlikely. Banks will certainly be a huge attraction to any other promotion, and they won’t risk losing her.
Meltzer says the WWE would absolutely welcome her back, but it comes with a price:
“She wants things different. Whatever that difference is, they haven’t agreed to it because she ain’t back. So we’ll have to wait and see.”
