Big Cass Speaks Out About WWE Release
On June 19, 2018, WWE announced the release of William Morrissey, known by the WWE Universe as Big Cass.
WWE Releases Big Cass
This release was due to apparent backstage troubles with the former Superstar. Several sources claimed Big Cass had gotten drunk during a European tour. After thinking he was locked inside, Cass broke the bathroom door on a tour bus. In a segment where a little person was dressed as Daniel Bryan, Cass allegedly attacked him longer then he was initially supposed to. Then, in a confrontation with WWE Superstar Carmella, Cass had gotten upset with her and grabbed her arm as she turned to walk away. The argument with Carmella was apparently WWE’s breaking point, and Cass was soon let go afterward.
Cass’ Take
It has been two months since Cass’ release from the WWE. In a recent interview on the Booker T Podcast, Cass talked about the issue at hand.
“If I’m going to be honest with you, I made a lot of mistakes. I made a lot of mistakes in a very short period of time and I did some things that I shouldn’t have done. I guess the company couldn’t rely on me and couldn’t trust me. Look, I’ll just be honest with you, in my opinion, they made the right decision for them.” -quote courtesy of HalkhabarNews
According to Cass, he has no harsh feelings towards his former employers. He believes they made the right decision and knows he was not in the right.
Big Cass has mentioned wanting to make a return sometime in the future. Still, he understands why he was let go in the first place.
“It was the right decision to get rid of me at that point in time – not to say I won’t be back – but at that point in time they definitely made the right decision for them. To be honest with you, looking at it they made the right decision for me. Everyone makes mistakes, but when you make that many mistakes in that short of a period of time then you lose people’s trust and you’re not reliable anymore.” -quote courtesy of HalkhabarNews
Big Cass is currently wrestling on the independent circuit. Whether or not he will make a WWE return in the future is uncertain. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
