Klay Thompson Spending Rest of Career As A Warrior?
Recently, Mychal Thompson, who’s the father of three time NBA champion Klay Thompson, was quoted on his son’s possible options. Are we to believe that Thompson’s father knows something that we don’t? Or is this merely an attempt to gain attention for himself? Well, at this point anything is definitely possible. Let’s attempt to separate fact from fiction regarding Thompson. We know for a fact that he wants to re-sign with the Golden State Warriors during his free agency in 2019. Klay Thompson spending rest of career as a Warrior seems to be a fact.

Thompson after winning his third NBA championship with Golden State stated he would remain with the Warriors. It makes a lot of sense for him to re-sign with the Warriors during his upcoming free agency. Like the quote ” Don’t fix what isn’t broke”, definitely worth consideration by the talented Shooting guard.
The Warriors would have to clear up a lot of cap space to give Thompson a max contract. We should look at the bigger picture and what can players give up to bring home another championship. At this time, maybe Thompson should also consider what’s best for the team. A championship is by far better in his career than a max contract.
Splash Brothers Set To Drown The Competition
It’s no secret that the Warriors have a really deep bench and a star-filled starting unit. With the recent addition of big man DeMarcus Cousins, who’s a valuable two player, the Warriors have a solid defensive and offensive unit. Thompson is better known as one of the “Splash Brothers” along with Stephen Curry. Now, there is another “Splash Brother” in the star-studded Warriors in Cousins. Cousins has a strong defensive game and is virtually unstoppable. Along with his scoring capabilities in the zone and from the perimeter, the Golden Boys are set to drown out most of the competition.
Father And Son On The Same Page
It has been reported that Thompson does indeed want to retire as a Warrior. He also is very excited to play with Cousins rather than against him this upcoming season. Logically, it makes sense for Thompson to remain a “Splash Brother” for the remainder of his NBA career. The star-studded Warriors will indeed find “Strength In Numbers”.
