Bayern Munich left-back Alaba out against Real Madrid for the first leg
Munich, Germany – Bayern Munich left-back David Alaba out against Real Madrid for the first leg of the Champions League semifinal.
He picked up a quadriceps injury and he felt pain again in Tuesday’s session. In addition, German newspaper Bild have confirmed his absence. Alaba’s particiapation in the return leg is still in doubt. The Bavarians will also be without goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and midfielder Arturo Vidal with injuries.
Bayern Munich boss Jupp Heynckes expects Rafinha to fill in on the left of the defense at Allianz Arena in Munich. There are speculations that Arjen Robben’s participation is also on the table to start.
These are good news for Real Madrid as this will be one less threat for Zinedine Zidane’s squad. However, physically they are strong. This is a team who can control games, but can counter-attack too, similar to Real Madrid.
