Keylor Navas Requests To Leave Madrid
According to Marca, Keylor Navas has requested to leave Real Madrid after being told he would be second choice to Thibaut Courtois.
Courtois will be given the starting job while the Costa Rican has been left as second option.
This goes back to last season, when at times, Luca Zidane was the strategist’s option.
Additionally, Zidane and Andriy Lunin have both left the club this summer on loan.
However, Navas is unwilling to stay another season where he may not see any action aside from Copa del Rey action.
A move to Portugal’s side Benfica is still on the table according to the report.
Additionally, an interest from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain has been lingering at Santiago Bernabeu. It was reported that he was part of the formula that would bring Neymar from PSG.
Last season, Navas started 11 La Liga matches. However, he returned to the starting job only when Zinedine Zidane returned to the club after the sacking of Santiago Solari.
Navas made a move to Real Madrid in 2014 from Levante. Since then, he has won three Champions League under Zidane.
