Malcom Joins Russian Side FC Zenit
Considering the several laughing transfer moves, Malcom is perhaps one of the worst in Barcelona history.
Not only for the battle it took them to obtain the Brazilian services, but the immense troubles in which they hijacked AS Roma.
Malcom is now a FC Zenit player and leaves Barcelona after just one year with the club.
In a statement, the Catalan club said:
“The Russian team will pay FC Barcelona 40 million euros plus 5 million euros in variables.”
Additionally, the club mentions that they reserve the right to a future sale of the Brazilian player.
During his time with the club, Malcom scored four goals and played 24 times. He featured in 15 league games, six Copa del rey and three Champions League matches.
Teams from China, Italy and England were all interested in the Brazilian as well. He opted for the team that would give him the best opportunity to play while also playing Champions League.
With his sale, Barcelona have now recouped a little over €120m in sales of players. Jasper Cillessen, Andre Gomes, Denis Suarez, Marc Cardona and Marc Cucurella all left the club this summer.
The door is finally opening for a possible Neymar return…
