Quique Setien In Villarreal’s Target
Villarreal are considering replacing Javi Calleja with former Real Betis Quique Setien.
In an up and down season for the Yellow Submarine, Villarreal are trying to get it right.
Their season begun with Calleja at the helm. However, he was later sacked in December and replaced by Luis Garcia.
However, the club continued to decline and brought back Calleja, with whom they were able to maintain their stay in first division.
Since rejoining the club, Calleja won 10 of his 23 matches, but suffered in some occasions as they failed to continue in Europa League.
Meanwhile, Setien is coming some turmoil himself at Betis. The Seville side fans either loved or hated Setien.
His style of play catches the eyes of those who love the Tiki-Taka. However, may felt that style of play is what kept them from competing in Europa League and also for the Copa del Rey, where they were took harsh losses.
Nevertheless, Setien led victories over Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid and Milan this season. Something that will stay in resume for this past season.
