Ter Stegen Season Over For Barcelona
German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen will miss the rest of the season for Barcelona with a knee injury.
The club confirmed the 27-year-old sustained a knee injury. Additionally, they mentioned his availability will depend on how things develop.
Meanwhile, backup keeper Jasper Cillessen will likely fill in La Liga action. However, he has been the feature keeper in La Copa del Rey.
The only exception was that ter Stegen started against Real Madrid in both legs of the semifinal triumph.
This comes in good time for Cillessen is looking to exit the club this summer.
Featuring these two last games against Eibar and Valencia will increase his value, specially if he does well during the time.
Benfica is the prime interest in his services. However, the Portuguese and Catalans are not set on the transfer deal.
As for ter Stegen, the German has been put in rather savior position at times for Barcelona. During the semifinal’s first leg against Liverpool, he feature several occasions that saved Barcelona from losing at home.
The German goalkeeper has feature at goal in 49 occasions this season for Ernesto Valverde.
