Barcelona Sticking With Ernesto Valverde
Despite the desires from many Barcelona fans, Barcelona are sticking with Ernesto Valverde for one more season.
After the debacle in Anfield last week, everyone was sure Barcelona would sack the two time Liga winner.
Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu said that they were very happy with Valverde. He also added that Valverde in the manager they want.
“The planning of the next season has been under way for some time, there are already signed players and we will continue talking when the Copa final is over.
“Now it is about the players recovering from the mental shock that we suffered, but the result of the Copa final will not be decisive for anyone.
“We come from a painful defeat and we must recover our spirit, our enthusiasm and our desire to compete, but we are recovering from the European elimination.”
Valverde has won back to back Ligas in his two years at the helm. He has also reached La Copa del Rey finals twice, with a chance at winning a second.
However, he is being heavily criticized for his failure to reach and win the Champions League once more.
