Fans of Sasha Banks Upset about her Absence in Upcoming Money in the Bank Match
It’s no secret to anyone on social media that Sasha Banks and WWE are not on good terms. Since the RAW after WrestleMania, her absence has been noticeable and it appears it won’t improve any time soon. Fans of the five-time Women’s Champion have high hopes she will be in the upcoming Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, but after no-showing to RAW, things weren’t looking promising.
Fan Backlash
Alexa Bliss, during her Moment of Bliss talk show this week on Monday Night RAW, named all four women that will be representing the red brand during the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
Dana Brooke, Naomi, Natalya and Alexa Bliss will all be competing. Unfortunately for fans of Sasha Banks, this means she will NOT be competing. Of course, as fans do nowadays, people who support Sasha took it out on Twitter following the announcement.
Please be aware that some of the tweets are NSFW:
With the circulating rumors ranging from Sasha wanting to quit to her just need a few weeks off, many wonder what will come next for her. There was a possibility of Banks showing up this week on SmackDown Live to enter as a representative of the blue brand. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, either.
What happens next we won’t know until it actually does.
New WWE Pay-per-view Replacing Backlash after Money in the Bank?
Speaking of Backlash, there’s apparently going to be a new WWE event debuting in June. WWE Stomping Grounds will replace the classic Backlash as the event to appear after the Saudi Arabia show next month. Reports say Backlash got the ax because WWE officials didn’t want two major events in the same month, Backlash being a few weeks after Saudi-Mania in this instance. This leaves people wondering what will happen to NXT TakeOver: San Jose now that Backlash is no more, but it will apparently be rescheduled to be NXT TakeOver: Tacoma and air the night before Stomping Grounds.
Personally, I kinda like the new name of the pay-per-view. It’s no Great Balls of Fire aura of excellence, but it brings a nice new spin to a list of special event names that have been getting stale these last few years.
