Former WWE Women’s Champion Praises Bella Twins

Isn’t it neat when women lift each other up? I especially love to see it in the WWE. Back in the mid 2000s, the Women’s Division wasn’t particularly…notable. Women’s matches were short, if not non-existent. The talent wasn’t really there, but the pretty faces were. And love them or hate them, the Bella Twins emerged from that era. The greatest thing about that is that despite the time period, Nikki and Brie Bella were able to grow with the ever-improving crop of women, each of them proving that they can still hang with some of the new faces on the roster. In fact, former RAW and SmackDown Live Women’s Champion, Alexa Bliss, even admitted to PEOPLE magazine that the Bella Twins started a revolution.

Bliss has been an excellent addition to the cast of Total Divas, and was sad to hear that the Bella Twins wouldn’t be joining in on the show for another season. However, Alexa wasn’t particularly surprised:

“They are the busiest, yet most successful women I know….they’ve gone on to Total Bellas. They have their wine. Now they have a skin care [line] as well as a pet shampoo. I think it’s fantastic what they’re doing.”

PEOPLE also asked Alexa Bliss if she saw the Bella Twins as role models.

“Absolutely. They’ve become entrepreneurs and that’s what we want for the women in our industry. We want to be successful in and out of the ring, and they’ve really paved the way for us.”

Although Nikki and Brie Bella have stepped away from the ring for now, they’ve kept themselves quite busy. Even if many don’t want to admit it, they’ve truly marked an era of the WWE. When you consider the women who are most successful outside of the WWE, you can’t help but to throw the Bella Twins in there. They have proven that even when you are away from the ring, it isn’t impossible to keep being successful. Some of their styles on Birdiebee, their clothing website, have sold out in minutes. And let’s admit it: That’s because they’ve built themselves an entire empire. And seriously, who can’t admire that?
