  • Venue: Mestalla Stadium
  • Seating Capacity: 55,000

Despite playing far from spectacular, Real Madrid travels to Mestalla for a midweek clash against Valencia.

The marquee fixture is one of the latest great fixtures of the end of the season.

Valencia have found a better side of themselves of late. Though they have not been able to rack three points in successive games. Nonetheless, a 0-1 victory over Sevilla helped them get closer to top four standings.

Meanwhile, this will be Zinedine Zidane’s third game back after returning to the club last month.

Sunday’s come from behind win over Huesca came with some critics after displaying a younger starting 11 on the pitch.

Madrid won their last La Liga encounter with a 2-0 score with an own goal from Daniel Wass and a late strike from Lucas Vazquez.

Team News

Marcelona has no pressing injury concerns at the moment. However, Los Ches remain without Cristiano Piccini, Francis Coquelin, and Ruben Soriano.

Meanwhile, Thibaut Courtois and Vinicius Junior continue to be out with injuries. Dani Carvajal has returned to full training and could feature.

Predicted Line-Ups

Valencia XI: Neto; Wass, Garay, Gabriel, Gaya; Soler, Parejo, Kondogbia, Guedes; Rodrigo, Gameiro.

Real Madrid XI: Navas; Odriozola, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo; Casemiro; Modric, Kroos; Isco; Bale, Benzema.

Match Prediction

Both teams feature a decent run of form and are pushing to end the season on the top four spots. However, Valencia has a lot more ground to cover as they remain sixth and can jump to fifth with a win over Real Madrid.

Valencia sees trouble to get to the top four with Sevilla lurking while they be facing fifth place Alaves.

However, both sides will probably not do much damage to each other but with a small edge to Valencia who needs it more.

Prediction: Valencia 2 – 2 Real Madrid
