Five Things: 5 Things that NEED to Happen at Fastlane 2019
Having two pay-per-views between Royal Rumble and WrestleMania is often times under criticism by the fans. It’s easy to see why some title matches or long term feuds may water down between the almost four month stretch because of the excess events, but WWE insists on having one each month.
That being said, why not have a little fun and throw in a monkey wrench or two that the WWE Universe doesn’t see coming? In my own personal opinion, here are Five Things that should happen at Fastlane 2019.
1. Mandy Rose wins the SmackDown Women’s Championship/Sonya Deville turns face
Starting off the list with something that’ll surely anger most of the smarky wrestling fans.
Mandy Rose should beat Asuka. Why? *clap, clap, slap* Here’s why: Because nobody is paying any attention to that title right now. If Mandy Rose beats Asuka, who is one of the best women’s wrestlers on the planet, attention will immediately turn to her and the blue women’s belt.
Where does that leave Sonya? To attack Mandy after the match and be her challenger at WrestleMania. Have Sonya even appear to present the title to Mandy, only to hit her with it and send a message that reads: “I don’t need you; See you at ‘Mania, b*tch.”
It brings a little freshness to a women’s division that’s sadly lost two of its biggest stars to RAW. It wouldn’t be the most heartbreaking betrayal, but it would be out of nowhere and exciting to see in the moment.
2. The SHIELD stands tall
If this is really the last time the SHIELD teams together before Dean Ambrose leaves WWE, then they should absolutely win here.
If Reigns, Ambrose, and Rollins lose then it is almost certain that Dean isn’t going anywhere. They wouldn’t have The SHIELD lose and not get their win back later on. That’s just not how they would handle Roman Reigns after he just got back.
3. Shane McMahon turns heel
This will set up a blow off match with The Miz at ‘Mania. Shane can’t take not being champion, attacks Miz, and the Greatest Tag Team in the world is broken up.
I just hope they can manage to settle for dual custody of the poor BITW Tournament Trophy; It’s the real victim here after all.
4. Kofi Kingston gets involved in the WWE Championship match
He doesn’t necessarily need to interfere in the match, but Kofi Kingston should absolutely involve himself somehow. Whether that be commentary or standing by at ringside. He needs to do something to show that he is still deserving of a WWE Title match at some point in the near future.
I also wouldn’t mind seeing the New Day charge the ring and beat down everyone in sight with kendo sticks and pancakes.
5. Becky Lynch wins
This one is obvious, but it needs to be said. It apparently isn’t enough to win the Royal Rumble, beat Charlotte Flair, literally beat Ronda Rousey with a crutch, get suspended and reinstated twice, and get arrested to earn a shot at the RAW Women’s Championship.
Becky needs to win to set up the main event of WrestleMania. It’ll be the biggest women’s match in WrestleMania history, but it all begins with Becky earning the win here first.
Social Media City, b*tch
I’m shocked Becky vs Charlotte isn’t a Crutch on a Pole Match…
