RAW Recap for the February 25, 2019 Episode of Monday Night RAW

First Hour

This week’s Monday Night RAW opens with the long awaited return of Roman Reigns. Roman takes to the ring to tell us he misses the fans and misses wrestling. He says he didn’t just “choke up and swing for the fences”, but he hit a home run.

Roman finally reveals his cancer is now in remission. Seth Rollins joins Roman on the stage and the two former partners share a hug.

I’m not crying, you’re crying. Shut up.

Two on Two Tag Team: Aleister Black and Ricochet vs The Revival

Result: Black pins Dawson

  • Dash and Dawson jump Black and Ricochet before the opening bell
  • Ricochet hits a Moonsault off the apron
  • Black hits the Black Mass on Dawson for the win

Charly Caruso talks with Baron Corbin about his comments regarding Roman Reigns. Corbin says he hopes, for Roman’s sake, their paths don’t cross.

Elias attempts to serenade the crowd, but Lacey Evans takes a trip down the entrance ramp before turning around and walking back.

Elias gives it another shot, but Dean Ambrose interrupts. Ambrose says all the celebrating has him in a good mood. He challenges Drew McIntyre to a no disqualifications match.

Elias disses the Atlanta Falcons. Ambrose asks Elias if he can play Dirty Deeds, then gives a knowing look at the camera. Elias tries to hit Dean with his guitar, but Ambrose ducks and hits Dirty Deeds on Elias.

Women’s Two on Two Tag Team: The Riott Squad vs Natalya and Ronda Rousey

Result: Natalya and Ronda win via disqualification when Becky Lynch attacks Natalya

Becky Lynch attempts to fight off security, but she is arrested and taken to the back.

Another Hour

Ronda Rousey takes a mic and says she’s had enough of Becky. She demands Vince McMahon comes down to the ring.

Stephanie McMahon comes out instead of her father. Ronda demands Stephanie reinstates Becky and puts her in the RAW Women’s title match at WrestleMania so she can “take care” of Becky. Stephanie tells her no. Ronda lays down the title and leaves.

One on One: Kurt Angle vs Jinder May-Haul

Result: Angle submits Mahal

  • Angle submits Mahal with the Ankle Lock

Alexa Bliss arrives to host “A Moment of Bliss”. She introduces her guest, Intercontinental champion Finn Balor.

Alexa congratulates Finn on winning the title at Elimination Chamber. She says the downside to him being a champion is now his abs are covered up.

“I’ll make you a deal… You show me your abs and I’ll show you my- (Lio Rush’s theme cuts her off)” -Alexa Bliss

What was Bliss going to show Balor? No one will know for sure.

Rush says that Balor isn’t worthy to be IC champion. Balor says if Bobby Lashley wants another title shot, he can come find him. Balor says Rush should get the match before Lashley. Rush reluctantly agrees after Alexa Bliss calls him out.

Side Note: It’s hard to believe there’s a 13 year age difference between Rush and Balor.

Intercontinental Championship One on One: Finn Balor (c) vs Lio Rush

Result: Balor pins Rush to retain

  • Via the Coup De Grace, Balor pins Rush and retains his title

Konnor and Viktor of The Ascension confront Tucker Knight. They poke fun at Tucker’s partner, Otis Dozovic. Tucker tells them Otis doesn’t like to be made fun of and won’t like what they have to say about him.

Otis shows up on the scene. Tucker tells his partner what The Ascension said about him. Otis attacks The Ascension and tells them that’s what happens when they mess with Heavy Machinery.

“Tucky! Tucky! I’ve been lookin’ fer ya! What’s goin’ down here?” Otis, a man of many wisdoms

Bobby Lashley berates Lio Rush for losing his match against Finn Balor. He asks Lio if he can trust him. Lio assures Lashley he can.

Yet Another Hour

Before his match with Braun Strowman can begin, Lashley attacks the big man. Braun turns the tables and attacks both Lashley and Lio Rush.

Seth Rollins expresses his excitement for Roman Reigns’s return from battling cancer.

Throughout the night, WWE Hall of Famers and celebrities wish Ric Flair a Happy Birthday.

One on One No Disqualifications: Dean Ambrose vs Drew McIntyre

Result: McIntyre pins Ambrose

  • McIntyre tries to hit Ambrose with the steel steps, but Ambrose trips him and hits his head with the steps
  • Elias attacks Ambrose with his guitar
  • McIntyre hits a Claymore to take the win

After the match, Elias, Bobby Lashley, Baron Corbin, and Drew McIntyre surround Dean Ambrose. They start to beat him down, but Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins come to the rescue.

Reigns and Rollins fight off Lashley, Corbin, McIntyre, and Elias.

Women’s One on One: Bayley vs Nia Jax

Result: Bayley pins Nia

  • Bayley pays homage to Randy Savage by hitting an Elbow Drop for the win

Superstars crowd the entrance stage to celebrate Ric Flair’s 70th birthday.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon take to the ring. Triple H recaps the events that happened during the night so far. He says the reason they are “hair” tonight is to celebrate Ric Flair.

Shawn Michaels, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Kurt Angle, and freakin’ Sting come down to the ring to help celebrate.

A video package recaps some of Ric Flair’s biggest highlights. Stephanie reveals a custom made NWA/WCW/WWE World Heavyweight championship for Ric. Triple H introduces “The Nature Boy”, but he doesn’t come out.

Camera cuts back to backstage. Batista drags a cameraman to Ric Flair’s locker room. Batista drags Flair out of his dressing room.

“Hey, Hunter… Do I have your attention now?” -Batista

Triple H rushes to the back to help Ric, but by the time he gets there Batista is already gone.
