Injury Update On Neymar Jr.
Brazilian international forward left the pitch emotional after suffering a foot injury in their win against Strasbourg.
Additionally, it is still unclear how the PSG forward sustained the injury. But, he had been receiving several heavy tackling from midfielder Anthony Goncalves earlier in the match.
In a statement, PSG announced that the first exams revealed the aggravation of the fifth right metatarsal injury in his foot.
Last February, Neymar picked up an ankle and foot injury. That time, it included a crack in his fifth metatarsal. The fifth metatarsal is also known as the small toe.
Though his season was in doubt, with the World Cup looming, Neymar returned to practice a month before the tournament in Russia.
He ended playing the tournament but did not play a single minute for Paris Saint-Germain the remaining of the season.
No timetable has been given for his recuperation. However, PSG is being patient to determine what steps to take in the next couple of days.
PSG is a heavy favorite to win the Champions League this season. They draw Manchester City in the quarterfinals that are set to start in three weeks.
