Final Match Card for the Royal Rumble 2019 Event
Every year, towards the end of January, everyone can guarantee two things will happen. 73% of people giving up on their resolutions and The Royal Rumble pay-per-view. This year’s annual tradition is looking like it will be a solid show. Will it be? If it isn’t, we’ll never hear the end of it. So, let’s hope it’s great.
(PRE-SHOW) WWE United States Championship: Rusev (c) vs Shinsuke Nakamura
No rematch clauses anymore? Well, that’s a dirty lie.
Rusev is on the hunt after Shinsuke safely dropped Lana from three feet in the air. Shinuske is looking to ruin yet another Rusev Day, by taking the title off Rusev’s waist.
(PRE-SHOW) WWE Cruiserweight Championship Fatal 4-Way: Buddy Murphy (c) vs Akira Tozawa vs Hideo Itami vs Kalisto
This should consist of a lot of flippy stuff. Expect Kalisto to hit a 900 Senton from the bottom rope or Buddy Murphy to throw Akira Tozawa from the ring to the concession stand or Hideo to break someone’s face with his knee.
SmackDown Tag Team Championships: The Bar (c) vs Shane McMahon & The Miz
The greatest tag team to ever assemble, The Miz and Shane O’Mac are looking to claim tag team gold. The Bar are just in the wrong place at the wrong time. How can Sheamus and Cesaro ever hope to defeat the best wrestler in the world and his clingy tag partner?
RAW Women’s Championship: Ronda Rousey (c) vs Sasha Banks
Sasha won a match against Nia Jax to earn a shot at Ronda after calling the “Force of Greatness” a female dog. Sasha’s main goal is to beat Ronda and hold the title longer than a week, while Ronda just wants to break people’s arms.
SmackDown Women’s Championship: Asuka (c) vs Becky Lynch
Becky’s “The Man” and she’s ready to take her title back home. Asuka claims Becky will stop living in Charlotte’s shadow and start living under hers.
WWE Championship: Daniel Bryan (c) vs AJ Styles
“The New” Daniel Bryan vs “The Real” AJ Styles in a battle of who has the best adjective as a nickname. I think the main storyline here is that Bryan wants us to be more eco-friendly, which makes AJ look like a total jerk in retrospect.
WWE Universal Championship: Brock Lesnar (c) vs Finn Balor
Just let Finn have this one win. Nobody wants Brock anymore. Anyone who says they do is a liar.
Men’s Royal Rumble
The real reason you are all here. The show is named after this classic contest. The element of surprise adds to this exciting match. Good thing they didn’t spoil any of the entrants…
Women’s Royal Rumble
