LeBron James Posts Triple Double, Leads Lakers Past Pelicans 112-104
After a two game skid, the Los Angeles Lakers got a much needed win Friday night against the New Orleans Pelicans. LeBron James posted a triple double, pushing the Lakers past the New Orleans Pelicans 112-104. Every Lakers starter scored in double figures and Kyle Kuzma led the Lakers in scoring with 23 points. Ivica Zubac also had a big last night, getting his first double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Rajon Rondo and Brandon Ingram also both returned from injury Friday night. Rondo finished with 8 points and 9 assists and Ingram finished with 18 points and 7 rebounds. The Lakers are also finally getting healthy and it couldn’t be at a more perfect time. The Lakers squad is going to need to be at 100% if they want to start separating themselves from the pack.
Could LeBron James and Anthony Davis Be The Next Lakers Dominate Duo?
Obviously, all of the talk this week about the Lakers has been about their interest in Anthony Davis. With the possibility of missing out on big free agents this summer, Davis could find himself in the purple and gold soon enough. LeBron James was asked about the possibility of playing with Davis and said, “That would be amazing, like, duh. That would be incredible.”
However, Lakers fans are torn with exactly how much they would be willing to give up in a trade. With Davis being one of the best players in the league, I would expect New Orleans to ask for most, if not all of the Lakers’ young core.
Player of The Game: LeBron James
James imposed his will Friday night and led the Lakers to victory with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 14 assists. He finished the first quarter with 7 assists. That mark is his most in a single quarter this season. With a tough schedule coming up, the Lakers are obviously going to need plenty of performances like this from James.

Looking Ahead:
The Lakers will be welcoming the Memphis Grizzlies to Los Angeles on Sunday night. The Grizzlies started off hot, surprising most on how they’ve held up in the west. However, despite the fact start, they find themselves falling in the standings with a 16-16 record. The Lakers won the previous matchup 111-88, and will be looking to build off of Friday night’s victory.
On Christmas Day, we are in store for a potential Western Conference Finals matchup. The Lakers will be heading to Oakland to take on the two time defending champion Golden State Warriors. This is also perhaps the most anticipated regular season game this season. Regardless of the outcome, this game has all the making to go down as a Christmas classic.
