Evolution Reunion Set for SmackDown 1000

As announced by WWE’s YouTube channel, Evolution is set to reunite for the SmackDown 1000 special.

Evolution was a wrestling stable from the early 2000s. The group was made up of Batista, Triple H, Ric Flair, and Randy Orton. Between the four members, there are over fifty world title reigns over each person’s career. Flair and Batista would hold tag team gold together. Orton would capture his first world title while a member of Evolution. This would lead to his eventual banishment from the group.

With the announcement of Evolution having a reunion, it breaks the theory that Batista wasn’t invited to attend SmackDown 1000, as he previously stated.

SmackDown 1000 will be the SmackDown debut of Evolution. The group was Monday Night RAW exclusive until Batista broke away from the group and changed brands.

Reunion

The Evolution reunion should be very interesting to see. With Triple H now an authority figure, Batista a Hollywood actor, Ric Flair now all but retired from WWE appearances, and Randy Orton’s reformed mean streak, it shouldn’t be anything less than a wonder how this reunion should go.

Many sources have speculated that Orton may turn on his Evolution teammates. This may set up a singles match between Batista and Orton at WrestleMania 35.

Of course, with Batista’s schedule with Hollywood, it may be difficult for him to compete. Actors in WWE can’t compete as much as the rest of the roster. This is why John Cena is often away for multiple months, sometimes more than a year, while filming for a movie or television show. It’s to prevent any injury that could hinder production in any way.

Whether WWE decides to have Orton turn on his former teammates, or have the reunion go smoothly, is anyone’s guess. With SmackDown 1000 just a few weeks away, Evolution’s reunion is another attraction to look forward to.
