European Indie Star Walter Addresses NXT Signing Rumors
In a recent interview, European independent wrestling star Walter addressed possible rumors on an NXT deal. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is still very interested in signing Walter to an NXT contract.

Walter was asked about the possibility of joining WWE. He was clear with his intentions when addressing the possible outcome:
“I don’t know if I mentioned this, but being a part of the Raw or SmackDown roster is nothing I am interested in… I don’t want to live in the US…” quote courtesy of WrestlingInc
Although a deal has not been agreed upon yet, Walter did mention he likes the NXT brand.
“I really like NXT though, I think it’s a great product, filled with the best talent in the world and is focused on competition in the ring, which is something I enjoy. I don’t want to say it will never happen because in wrestling things change so quick.” quote courtesy of WrestlingInc
WWE tried signing the Austrian wrestler to an NXT contract around the same time Keith Lee was signed. Unfortunately, things did not go the way WWE wanted.
When it comes to “big men” in professional wrestling, it is noted that WWE sees Walter’s value and takes him seriously. He is a champion in PWG, Defiant, and Evolve wrestling. His time in wXw has helped make him the globally recognized sensation he is today.
From the looks of things at this time, WWE is not going to be signing Walter anytime soon. But with the rise of WWE’s NXT UK brand and Walter’s praise of NXT, maybe they could sign him in the future. In the cases of Pete Dunne, Trent Seven, and Tyler Bate, NXT UK Superstars can still compete in the UK indie scene while still being signed to NXT UK. If something like this interests Walter, then maybe WWE can get him to sign a deal.
