Philadelphia Eagles: Alshon Jeffery’s Return One Step Closer
Jeffery Cleared For Contact
With a lackluster start to the season on offense, the Philadelphia Eagles are one step closer to their usual form. It is being reported that Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has been medically cleared for contact.

Although Jeffery may not play in this weeks game, him being able to practice is a huge step in the right direction for this team. Alshon injured his shoulder during last season’s training camp but managed to tough it out and play the entire year. Jeffery had a tremendous season last year leading the team in targets 120, receiving touchdowns 9, and being only behind TE Zach Ertz in receiving yards with 789. He was also a huge part of the Eagles postseason success compiling 12 receptions, 219 yards, and 3 touchdowns with Nick Foles at QB.
Implications for Philly
Starting the year decimated by injuries the Eagles enter week 4 surprisingly with a 2-1 record. The Eagles have relied heavily on their defense to start this season. Philadelphia’s offense ranks in the back half of the league in total offense and points scored this year. The Eagles got the good news Quarterback Carson Wentz was returning to action last week. Wentz lead the Eagles to a 20-16 victory over the Colts throwing for 255 yards and a touchdown. With Alshon Jeffery appearing to be heading towards action soon the Eagles offense will only continue to get better. Add in the fact running backs Darren Sproles and Jay Ajayi are also close to returning and this team looks to be competing for another super bowl.
Fantasy Impact
With the Eagles getting healthy again look for this team to produce some solid fantasy options. Carson Wentz may be slow for the next few weeks working back in to things but he appears to be heading towards his MVP type play and QB1 status. Wentz will only be helped by adding Alshon Jeffery to his arsenal. Alshon will be the teams big play threat allowing TE Zach Ertz to get open underneath. Both Ertz and Jeffery should be viewed as number ones at each of their positions. Due to the Eagles imploring a committee of running backs, it is hard to name a RB1 but Jay Ajayi could offer great value as a flex option.
