2018-19 Season Top 10 NBA Players

In this short article we will cover top 10 best players in upcoming NBA season.

Here you will find “who to watch” in the season ahead, players stats, pros and cons and much more.

So, let’s start with 10th position in our list:

10. Joel Embiid (C)- Philadelphia 76ers

There are many great centers in the league, but Joel, if he stays healthy, will become number 1 contender in short time. He’s a Defensive Player of the Year candidate and high-level offensive producer. On post play, he is almost unstoppable, also he can stretch the defense to the 3 point line. With a good playmaker, their pick and roll play will be a beauty to watch.

9. Chris Paul (PG)- Houston Rockets

Through his career, he didn’t have luck with injuries, but healthy Chris Paul is definitely MVP caliber. His last season in Rockets didn’t finish so well, and we can expect much more from him in the season ahead. His assists, playmaking, and scoring are things that every coach would like to have on his team. Also, his defense is going to a higher level.

8. Giannis Antetokounmpo (PF)- Milwaukee Bucks

NBA’s rising star, currently probably best European player in the league with only 23 years old. He is an all-round player, definitely candidate for the All-Defensive team in the upcoming season. But besides that, he still has room for improvement. He has been one of the best reasons to pay attention to professional basketball over the past five years, and while he could wind up being a Hall of Famer without extending his range.

7. Kawhi Leonard (SF) – Toronto Raptors

It’s a prove-it time for Leonard. I find it difficult to place him any higher given the uncertainty of his health and willingness to play. On paper, he’s an MVP candidate. Leonard is the best two-way player in the NBA, no doubt. Now is the time for him.

6. Russell Westbrook (PG) – Oklahoma Thunder

Westbrook was top 20 in every category graded outside of efficiency and defense. Arguably the most polarizing player in the upper echelon of NBA talent, you can’t argue with Westbrook’s passion, ferocity or game-changing ability. Averaging a triple-double in two consecutive seasons is pure insanity.

5. James Harden (SG ) – Houston Rockets

Harden was the MVP and deservedly so. He did that in a dominant force on the offensive end, where he’s not only one of the best one-on-one scorers in the league, but also one of the best playmakers as well. James is more than capable to carry his team through the whole season. Despite that, he’s penalized for losing to Golden State after being up 3-2.

4. Anthony Davis (PF) – New Orleans Pelicans

A reincarnation of Kevin Garnett, Davis has similar issues in that he can’t pass the ball to himself. Too bad that he is playing in one of the top teams in the league, he could show his full potential. In years ahead, MVP candidate with no doubt.

3. Stephen Curry (PG) – Golden State Warriors

Here I had a doubt. In the “Curry – Durant” situation, my vote goes to Curry, but only for the edge. despite what Durant can do with the basketball, the Warriors are a fiery supernova with Curry, and his highest overall team impact score reflects that. Aside from that, he is a world-class ball-handler, one of the better finishers at the rim in the league.

2. Kevin Durant (SF) – Golden State Warriors

His numbers are not only special it has gotten better in the playoffs and that it’s an absolute bucket. He can score from anywhere in any situation and his defense is improved so much in the last season. He turns 30 at the end of the month, and it feels like it is only a matter of time until he is No. 1 on this list.

1. LeBron James (SF)- Los Angeles Lakers

He hasn’t been the MVP in a while, but it’s clear he’s still the best player. Arguably second-best all-time player. Simply put, James should win MVP every single season. The only reason he doesn’t is that he’s measured against his own greatness. Top class!
