Golden State Warriors Media Day Event Summary

Monday was the highly anticipated Warriors Media Day event. Not only because it gives us an opportunity to see the team after a long post season. It also provides an insight into the Franchise and Teams changes. Including a sneak-peek into the upcoming NBA season and what we can expect from Golden State.

Nothing Lasts Forever

The phrase “Nothing Lasts Forever” was used from GM Bob Meyer to many of the players. In all actuality, they were speaking on what the future holds for the Championship Dynasty. Nobody can be certain of what the future holds. But one thing is for certain, this season will be bittersweet for the Warriors. Although it was a sad moment there was some positivity on the topic.

The team and franchise are not focused on another Championship. However, they’re seeking to bring home one more Championship to Oracle Arena. The Warriors new home will be the Chase Center located in the mission district of San Fransisco. This will officially be the Franchises last season at Oracle Arena located in Oakland.

Roster Losses And Additions

The roster has undergone some changes losing veteran players and gaining new team players. The loss of David West (Retired), ZaZa Pachulia (Pistons), and JaVale McGee (Lakers). The Roster has added another All-Star in DeMarcus Cousins. And have added many younger players as well. The Warriors recently added Tyler Ulis but are uncertain about Patrick McCaw at this point and time

GM Bob Meyer said: ” I will not push DeMarcus to play but I will not stop him either”.

Boogie was energetic and looking healthier than seven months ago (Achilles Heel Injury). Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson are excited about playing with Cousins.

The Squad Is Locked And Loaded

Coach Steve Kerr has more depth and can utilize the best line-ups. He will see results of training camp, which began today. Before he even considers which line-ups he will use effectively. He will not use Green as starting Center, he does not want to begin the season small. He wants the Warriors to not feel pressure about another Championship. Kerr also wants the team to keep working on improvements, youngster development, and making the team cohesive. The whole Franchise is committed to playing to the best of their abilities. They promote making work fun and in the end, that is how you win games and that is their defining goal.
