Mia Yim Signs NXT Contract

2017 and 2018 Mae Young Classic competitor Mia Yim has signed with NXT. Yim signed earlier today, according to PWInsider and Wrestling Inc.

The Blasian Sensation

Yim trained with DJ Hyde in CZW. She would manage Adam Cole during his run. She even competed in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match against Greg Excellent in 2011.

Mia Yim is a former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion. Known as Jade, she was named Queen of the Knockouts in 2016. For a brief stint in her early Impact career, Yim was part of the Dollhouse team with Marti Bell.

Mia Yim competed in the 2017 Mae Young Classic. She would make it to the semi-finals but would lose to eventual runner-up Shayna Baszler. Yim competed in the following year’s Mae Young Classic. Once again, she wouldn’t make it past the semi-finals.

Mia Yim is an advocate against domestic abuse. She paints the nail on her ring finger on her left hand every October. October, as well as breast cancer awareness month, is domestic abuse awareness month. Painting your left ring fingernail purple is a way to spread awareness. Sort of like how athletes wear pink during October for breast cancer awareness.

Yim is best friends with fellow WWE Superstar Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin has gone on to say he sees Yim as “a little sister”. Yim is dating fellow NXT Superstar Keith Lee. Yim is half Asian, half African American, which is why she nicknamed herself “The Blasian Sensation”. (“Blasian” is a combination of Black and Asian)

Her athletic ability and crowd appealing charisma should make her fit right in with the NXT Women’s division. Along with Kairi Sane, Nikki Cross, and Io Sharai, Yim’s NXT career should make for some exciting matches. With her history with Women’s championship gold, perhaps she becomes NXT Women’s champion sometime in the future.
