Rey Mysterio Signs 2-Year WWE Contract

As being reported by Cultaholic, Rey Mysterio has signed a two year WWE contract. The former WWE and World Heavyweight champion originally wanted just eighteen months. But after some negotiation, Mysterio has signed for two years.

Booyaka Booyaka

PWInsider and Cultaholic confirmed Rey Mysterio is back under a WWE contract. The contract states that, if he wishes to do so, Rey can break after his requested eighteen months. Meaning he is allowed to leave WWE after eighteen months, instead of the signed two years. Otherwise, it’s a normal two-year deal.

Hero… Tradition… Back…

Ever since Rey Mysterio was revealed as WWE 2k19’s pre-order bonus, many fans saw that as a sign he was coming back. He returned at number twenty-seven at the 2018 Royal Rumble to an enormous ovation. Followed up by an appearance at Greatest Royal Rumble, rumors of his WWE return refused to go away.

Far From Done

On top of all his WWE appearances, Rey Mysterio has had a very busy 2018. Appearing in AAA, Lucha Underground, All In, and the now-defunct 5-Star Wrestling.

At forty-three years old, it doesn’t look like Mysterio is slowing down any time soon. Many have worried that the luchador was close to his retirement. But Mysterio has gone on record saying his career is far from over.

How and when WWE will utilize Mysterio is unknown at the time. For years, many wanted a Mysterio return to create a second coming of the LWO faction with several other Latino WWE Superstars. Maybe Mysterio becomes a part of the 205 Live roster and helps lead the way for the next generation of high flying small wrestlers.

Whatever the case may be, seeing Mysterio back in WWE is a great thing. What he will do with his return will be a memorable run, for better or worse.
