Horizon League Announces ESPN Games
INDIANAPOLIS – The Horizon League announced on Wednesday that nine men’s basketball games will air on ESPN’s linear networks during the 2018-19 season.
The 2018 Horizon League men’s basketball champion Wright State will have four games featured on ESPN’s family of networks, including both regular season games against Northern Kentucky, last season’s regular season champions, and Illinois-Chicago (UIC). The Flames will also host IUPUI and Green Bay on ESPNU.
Horizon League matchups will air Friday nights throughout the season. Two regular season contests will be shown on ESPN2 and four matchups will air on ESPNU. The semifinals of Motor City Madness will be broadcast on ESPNU, while the championship game will be shown on either ESPN or ESPN2.
Continuing a partnership that began during the 2014-15 season, ESPN+ and ESPN3 will be the home for the League’s live streaming game content. The Horizon League has streamed every conference basketball game for an industry-best 12 consecutive seasons, beginning its streak in 2007 with the groundbreaking Horizon League Network. Last season over 650,000 fans consumed nearly 20 million minutes of Horizon League men’s basketball action.
