Los Angeles Rams vs Oakland Raiders Preview

The second game on Monday night football will be one for the books. A team with a top ranked defense and a team with a beast of a running back go head-to-head. Rams vs Raiders will be a fight to the end.

Both teams took risks this off-season. The LA Rams traded for Brandin Cooks as well as Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters. Not to mention the huge contract they just gave to Aaron Donald. While the Oakland Raiders traded away their defensive end- they traded for Arden Key, Derrick Johnson and all-star WR Jordy Nelson. Raiders’ owner Mark Davis also took a huge step in firing Jack Del Rio and hiring famous Raiders and Bucs Coach Jon Gruden.

Neither team really gave any glimpse as to what the future would be like with their new additions since they hardly played any starters in the pre-season.

Oakland went from 12-4 in 2016 to 6-10 in 2017. This game will be a tough one but Gruden and the Raiders are here to prove that 2016 was not just a fluke.

The Rams did the opposite of the Raiders. They went from 4-12 in 2016 to 11-5 in 2017. QB Jared Golf and the rest of the team will come out this season trying to live up to everyone’s high expectations.

Neither team has any notable in-actives for the game on Monday night.

Fantasy: Who to Lookout For

With the Raiders trading away Mack there aren’t many people left to try and contain running back Todd Gurley II. He averaged almost 90 yards per game last season. Above all, Gurley gets better each year. All the new additions to the Rams defense could make it hard for Derek Carr to keep his cool, and if pushed outside of the pocket he will be in big trouble.

The long time Packer moving to the Raiders can be good for Carr. Nelson is a huge fan of the in/out route. These routes normally average 10 yards but can easily be more with yards after the catch. With Carr on his game, and Nelson being able to cut on the drop of a dime, the points will be easily earned. Marshawn Lynch or better knows as Beast Mode is a running back great. He can go a whole season without a fumble. Lynch is built and knows how to plow right through a defensive line with ease.
