Shawn Michaels Rumored to Make In-Ring Return in Saudi Arabia
In a recent video from Cultaholic, Shawn Michaels is rumored to make his in-ring return during a show in Saudi Arabia. According to Dave Meltzer, Shawn Michaels’ rumored return has been all but confirmed. Meltzer claims that Michaels will make his in-ring return under two conditions. The conditions are: it will not be a singles match and it will not be at WrestleMania.
WrestleMania 26
Shawn Michaels originally retired after a match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26. The stipulation was “Career vs. Streak”, meaning Michaels would have to retire if he lost. For the last eight years, Michaels has stayed away from in-ring competition. Many fans have been predicting when he will make his return to the ring for several possible dream matches with today’s stars.
Return in Saudi Arabia
According to Cultaholic, Michaels’ return has been targeted for WWE’s next Saudi Arabia show. The show will take place on November 7, 2018. It would make sense since Saudi Arabia’s last show, Greatest Royal Rumble, had asked for several “Attitude Era” wrestlers. Some wrestlers included Yokozuna, Ultimate Warrior, and The Undertaker; Since Yokozuna and Ultimate Warrior had passed away, WWE booked The Great Khali and Hiroki Sumi instead.
Since Saudi Arabia has wanted classic “Attitude Era” wrestlers in the past, it would make a Shawn Michaels’ return very likely. However, since a return like this would be used for a house show essentially, a lot of the WWE Universe may be against the match. Greatest Royal Rumble, for example, has almost no continuity with WWE events since its broadcast. (When was the last time Braun Strowman walked out with the green Greatest Royal Rumble championship?)
Of course, nothing has been set in stone as of now. It would be great to see Shawn Michaels return to the ring sometime in the future. Whether or not it will be on a local show in Saudi Arabia, or if it will even happen at all, is still up for speculation. Still, we hope to see Shawn Michaels in a WWE ring sometime soon.
