Former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio Teases Return to WWE

In a recent interview with The Roman Show, former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio has mentioned wanting another run in WWE. During the interview, Del Rio was asked which wrestlers he’d like to work with again one day. Del Rio mentioned several wrestlers, including, Rey Mysterio, Dolph Ziggler, and Ken Anderson (Mr. Kennedy in WWE).

Alberto Del Rio then mentioned that he’d like another run in the WWE before he retires:

“…I have always stayed the same because I have a good relationship with Vince McMahon, the owner of the biggest, most prestigious company in the world.  I’m pretty sure I’ll be back one day before I decide to retire. I will go back there to have a last final run. Maybe I’ll have the opportunity to work with all those wrestlers I used to work when I was working for that company….” –Quote courtesy of The Roman Show

Del Rio is a former WWE and United States champion. WWE does not have a one hundred percent need for him at the moment. However, they have brought back big name stars for one more run before they retired. Trish Stratus, The New Age Outlaws, and Bret Hart all had one last short run before retiring for good in recent years.

The rise of several Latin Superstars such as Andrade Almas, Zelina Vega, and Sin Cara could bring Del Rio in. Perhaps there could be an interesting story line involving all four. Fans have mentioned wanting a reformed LWO with these wrestlers and Rey Mysterio.

Nothing has been confirmed yet by WWE or Alberto Del Rio himself. Former issues with SmackDown Live GM, Paige, may or may not complicate a return. Regardless, one last run for Alberto Del Rio would be exciting no matter how WWE decides to do it.
