Erick Rowan Suffers Bicep Injury at SummerSlam

During SummerSlam 2018, one half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Erick Rowan, suffered a bicep injury during his match.

As reported by The Spotlight on Facebook, PWInsider announced Rowan was injured sometime during the SmackDown Tag Team championship match. It is uncertain at what point during the match he was injured.

Bludgeoning Title Defense

The Bludgeon Brothers picked up the titles in a triple-threat tag match at WrestleMania 34. They defeated both the Usos and The New Day. Since then, Erick Rowan and Luke Harper have been undefeated in title defenses.

The day after SummerSlam, shortly before Monday Night RAW went on the air, SmackDown Live General Manager Paige announced another title defense for the Bludgeon Brothers.

The title defense took place during a “special” episode of SmackDown Live. The match was between The Bludgeon Brothers and The New Day in a No Disqualifications match. That was probably because of the use of the Bludgeon Brothers’ mallets in their SummerSlam match.

As always, it is unfortunate when a Superstar comes down with an injury. It is especially hard for a Champion since they are forced to drop their title soon after. Unfortunately, that was the case here. Rowan and Harper finally dropped their belts to The New Day. Following SmackDown Live, the WWE finally confirmed that Erick Rowan was injured.

We certainly wish a fast recovery for Erick Rowan. We also hope to see him able to wrestle again very soon. The duo has certainly made great entertainment as of late, and its a shame to have it end so soon.

In the meantime, what do you think the WWE will choose to do with Luke Harper? Here’s hoping that they continue to keep him relevant.
