Samoa Joe
Samoa Joe had a documentary on WWE Network chronicle his journey to SummerSlam. It showcased his attempts at proving to the Chairman Vince McMahon that he belongs on the main roster as a main event star.
When Joe first arrived in WWE NXT he met with the producer of NXT, Triple H. Triple H says right off the bat that he is not going to be a main event star. He also says Joe will not make it to the WWE main roster.
Here is what The Samoan Submission Machine has to say:
“Coming into NXT, and actually, once again, [Triple H] being brutally honest with me. You know Jim Ross was brutally honest with me at one point. Then, Hunter was brutally honest with me,” explained Joe. “And he said, ‘hey, you know, you coming in here, it will be a great help to NXT and you can do your own stuff, and I think we can have a good working relationship. But I’ll be honest with you, I don’t think Vince is looking to put a late 30-something, you know, looking to promote him up to the main roster. That was said within the first few sentences of us meeting.”
