Superstars in Politics
Did you ever think we would see a WWE Superstar in politics? Glenn Jacobs, aka Kane, was elected Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.
Kane Elected Mayor
Glenn Jacobs, better known in the WWE as Kane, defeated Linda Haney last Thursday to be the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. Jacobs was running as the Republican, who happened to received 31,739 votes. Democratic nominee Haney only received 16,611. The WWE congratulated Jacobs on this achievement:
Congratulations to @KaneWWE on being elected Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.
Jacobs slowly started winding down his in-ring career to get ready for the politics . His campaign, however, didn’t stop one last reunion with his former Team Hell No tag partner, Daniel Bryan. Kane and Daniel lost to The Bludgeon Brothers at Extreme Rules for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. This will be more then likely the last time Kane will be in the ring as he will now put politics first.
Of course, I am sure will see Jacobs back in the WWE at some point. Every superstar always seems to find their way back somehow. For those that know, Kane also likes to pop up out of nowhere.
Congrats to Glenn Jacobs on becoming the mayor. I wish you the best in all of your future endeavors. We will see you soon, “Big Red Machine.”
