Barry Brown To Return To Kansas State For His Senior Season
Without a doubt Kansas State’s starting guard Barry Brown is one of the most experienced and talented players on the team. From his agility to his extreme ball handling skills, Barry rarely lets anyone down. He even made the game winning layup to help the Wildcats advance to the Elite Eight last season.
Declaring for the draft
Kansas State fans, including myself, were stoked for Barry Brown’s return this season. Unfortunately in early April he decided to declare for the 2018 NBA draft. It was a bittersweet moment for so many Wildcat supporters. Barry has helped shape and rebuild our basketball program, and we all wanted him to stay for one more year.
Workouts with the NBA
Brown was very fortunate to receive an invitation to workout with the Lakers and the Nets for a small period of time. It’s clear that he enjoyed his time there. He even was able to meet Magic Johnson himself! Although Barry enjoyed his time working out with NBA teams he knew he wasn’t a high prospect. He withdrew from the NBA draft at the end of May. Brown knew what he was doing. He wanted to gain experience for the NBA as well as create different connections throughout the NBA.

Overview
Barry has garnered himself a very good resume for himself. Not only did he gain a lot of experience, but he helped raise his chances of being drafted next year by a surprisingly high amount. As for Kansas State fans like me, the future is looking very bright. Brown had a breakout season last year, and I personally don’t think he’s even close to reaching his prime. Barry keeps on getting better and better. His senior season as a Wildcat will be a season to remember.
