Three Young Real Madrid Players To Look Out For
With Real Madrid’s pre-season about to begin, new coach Julen Lopetegui finishes up preparations with the squad. Much talk will be about which players remain in the squad for the upcoming season.
At the moment, no major signings have been made by the club. Many now believe that ‘Los Galacticos’ will actually focus on building a team with what they have. As a matter of fact, this seems to already be the trend.
Over the past several seasons, ‘Los Blancos’ have made no galactico signings. Instead, a few less glamorous additions were made with the majority coming from the white’s own ‘La Fabrica.’
With that in mind, here are three promising young players who could make their first team breakthrough this year.
Oscar Rodriguez
Born in Toledo just outside Madrid, Oscar is an exciting attacking midfielder. Displaying great dead ball talent already, his vision and accuracy remind many who watch him of Andrea Pirlo. At 20 years old, Oscar has spent his entire life in Real Madrid’s Fabrica.
He may be on the verge of spending his first season with the first team should Lopetegui deem him ready. However, due to an already packed Madrid midfield, a loan may be the likely scenario for the talented youngster.
Jaime Seoane
Joining the Madrid based club at age nine, Jaime Seoane is a skilled central midfielder. He is 21 years old and made his first team debut in 2017 coming on for Kovacic in Copa del Rey action. The Madrid born midfielder is an excellent dribbler and possesses great talent in the air.
Seoane should feature for the whites in pre-season action but will most likely go out on loan to gain experience. The right handed midfielder is at the beginning of what promises to be an exciting career with 5 goals for RM Castilla last year. Impressive for a central midfielder.
Franchu Feuillassier
Perhaps the most exciting of the bunch, Feullassier’s nickname is ‘The Messi of Madrid’. To explain why, one would only need to watch him in action. Also Argentinian, Franchu has quick feet, dribbling through, past, among, between defenders with the ball close to his feet.
Additionally, like Messi, Franchu was brought to Spain very young to join the Madrid club’s youth system. After going to Rayo Vallecano for several seasons, he returned to Real Madrid’s youth team under Guti in 2016. He would go on to score 20 goals in 33 matches.
Likewise, Feuillassier made his senior team debut in 2017 under Zidane in the Copa del Rey. Perhaps the most likely of these three exciting talents to continue with the senior team, Franchu is in the squad list for pre-season action.
Madrid’s Pre-Season
It seems apparent that the European Champions intend to play more possession in the future. In a somewhat drastic change to playing style, it seems Madrid will rely on the speed of Bale for goals while dominating the midfield.
Head coach Julen Lopetegui will be excited at the amount of young talent at his disposal. Ultimately, the Spanish coach will be observing closely to decide the immediate futures of each one.
Keep an eye out for these three young players when Real Madrid take on Manchester United in the International Champions Cup Tuesday at 8pm in Miami, Florida.
