Is Andre Iguodala Worthy Of The Hall Of Fame?

Andre Iguodala was drafted by the Philadelphia Sixers in 2004. He was the 9th pick coming out of Arizona. Iggy was going to be the piece that with Allen Iverson would bring back  championships back to the city of brotherly love.

After 8 seasons of what some fans in Philadelphia would say was disappointment Andre was traded to Denver for Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson. In his eight years of amazing defense for the Sixers, he averaged 15.3 points, 4,9 assists and 5.8 rebounds a game. His stellar hands always tipped balls and he had a shade under two steals a game.

When Andre showed up with the Warriors, I feel Iguodola’s career took off in ways that most wont see. His stats are not amazing, but it was what he did as the glue on the defense for the Warriors. Already having an all star appearance in 2012 and also all NBA second team in 2011, he poised to take the next step. The next step he took in 2014 was the NBA all defensive first team. Iguodala being the great team player has  had no issues being the sixth man or starting.

2015

In 2015, Iguodola shocked the world in the NBA Finals. He pulled off a rare feat in the NBA coming off the bench when he won Finals MVP.  He took on LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. James was harassed by Iguodola all series. He shot 44%, efg +30, 107.4 ofrtg, with Iguodala on the bench. When Iggy was on the court with him, his stats were 38%,66% FT, EFG -55 AND A OOF RATING OF 94.1. Kawhi Leonard won the Finals MVP the year before and James shot 58% against him. Iguodola was not done there, as he was amazing on the offensive side as well. He averaged 6.3 points, 5,8 rebounds, four assists, and an amazing 53 % field goal percentage. He saved that series for the Warriors and won his Finals MVP.

Iguodala could start for almost any team in the NBA. His career numbers are 12.6 points, 5.3 rebounds,4.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Not a mind blowing stat line, but he is one the best two way players we have seen. He brings hustle and team work every play. His basketball IQ is off the charts with only 2.0 turnovers a game. The NBA would be ashamed not to allow him into the Hall of Fame.
