The Sixers Should Be Excited For Their Big Three Despite Dissapointing Offseason

The Philadelphia 76ers had hopes in acquiring LeBron James this summer. The Sixers hopes were dashed, as James chose the Los Angeles Lakers in free agency. The Sixers still have a big three of their own. The big three for the Sixers is Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, and Markelle Fultz. Here’s why Sixers fans should be excited about all three of them.

The Big Man

After being sidelined his first two seasons, Embiid stayed healthy. He showed he is a dominant player at times. Joel played in 63 games last year. He averaged 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game. Some glaring thoughts for improvement was his three point shooting.

He shot 30% from three point range last season. His free shooting was erratic at times, but that possibly was due to being out of the game for so long. The expectations for his game will be at a new level this upcoming season.

The Prodigy

Simmons is coming off a great rookie season, which he won the Rookie of The Year award. Some are probably saying this- What else do you want him to do? He averaged 15,8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game. The last time we’ve heard of a rookie who posted those kinds of numbers, you would have to look at the great Oscar Robinson and Magic Johnson. We know he has so much more to offer. He will have to work on his jumpshot and free throw shooting. Simmons should take his game to new heights in year two.

Mystery Man

Fultz may be the glue for the Sixers. He only played in a handful of games last year and was very limited. Also, he showed signs of brilliance, including a triple double against the Milwaukee Bucks.

He has amazing ball handling ability and if he finds a jumpshot, Sixers fans are going to party down on Broad Street. He’s been very busy working with the best trainer the NBA has to offer, Drew Hanlen, who has worked with Embiid and others in the past. This kid should turn heads next season.
