Enes Kanter Says LeBron Is Better Than Durant

Monday morning, New York Knick’s center Enes Kanter joined Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe on Fox Sports 1’s Undisputed. Ordinarily, it’s hard to get solid information about NBA stars from players while currently employed by the game. Athletes often avoid answering questions that could possibly affect their on/off court professional and personal relationships. But, Kanter wasn’t loss for words during his interview when it came to his NBA constituents. From the non complexity in playing with Russell Westbrook in OKC, to NBA teams having a “No (Demarcus) Cousin’s Policy,” Kanter killed with his candor. I have to say, it was downright refreshing.

Many of us remember that Kanter versus LeBron altercation in last year’s Cavaliers vs Knicks matchup, a moment that sealed the 6’11” center as a rival to James in our minds. When asked about the argument with James, Enas responded, “I was just defending my team mate, I’m really just a nice guy”. Shannon and Skipp continued the easy going conversation, keeping Kanter talking long enough to address the betrayal felt when Durant signed with Golden State and calling LeBron the best player in the world, a statement Shannon Sharpe wouldn’t let go without debate.

LeBron Is The Best Player In The NBA

Let’s not act like the subject of LeBron vs Durant is not the topic of barbershop conversation. It’s nice to listen to sports commentators create dissension around this topic, but its nothing like hearing it from one of the horses mouths. By that I mean, a player that actually competes against the 2 players. What makes Enes Kanter’s view point relevant is that he actually played with Kevin Durant, so who would be able to make a more sound claim than the former OKC center?

Skipp immediately countered Kanter’s claim saying, “Durant won finals MVP”, provoking him to rebut. Fervent in his opinion, Enas responded “If you put LeBron on the Warriors, he also gets the MVP”. Kanter then follows by calling Durant easily the second or third best player in the league and nothing more. This pretty much sums up his argument but to add to Kanter’s claim, if you put Durant on last season’s Cavs team, he wouldn’t have made it out of the first round of the post season.
