Ricky Seals-Jones Arrested In Scottsdale Hotel Altercation
Arizona Cardinals tight end, Ricky Seals-Jones was arrested late last night at a hotel in Scottsdale, Arizona for assault and disorderly conduct. This is the second Cardinals legal incident having occurred yesterday. The first being the five-game suspension of GM Steve Keim for DUI as well as a $200,000 fine.
Seals-Jones reportedly attempted to use a restroom in the W Hotel in Scottsdale but was told it was for employee use only at that time. When denied, he attempted to use a different restroom in the hotel’s restaurant. He was once again denied. One employee claims that after that, he became combative and forceful and “one hand shoved” him in the shoulder area.
According to the police reports his eyes were bloodshot suggesting he was under the influence.
The Cardinals have released a statement saying,
“The team is aware of the incident over the weekend involving Ricky Seals-Jones. While the legal process remains on-going, we will refrain from commenting further at this time.”
Seals-Jones is one of seven tight ends currently competing for a starting spot on the Cardinals. He is coming off of a season where he caught three touchdowns and racked up 201 receiving yards.
With Training Camp on the horizon, teams are trying to minimize distractions like this one.
Cardinals Outlook
The Cardinals have a lot on their plates for the upcoming season. With Bruce Arians’ retirement, they hired a new head coach, Steve Wilks. Wilks was the defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers. Along with that come new offensive defensive and special teams coordinators.
They have an interesting situation at quarterback as well. Both Sam Bradford and 1st round draft pick, Josh Rosen will be battling for the starting job. They are also playing in a very interesting NFC West division with teams that have upgraded big time over the course off this last offseason.
