WARRIORS GO WITH SUPER TEAM OVER SUPERMAN
Dwight Howard had made it clear that in his free agency wanted to be selected by the Golden State Warriors. But the Warriors didn’t seem so inclined to add “Super Man”. The Warriors wanted to improve upon an already established “Super Team” with the addition of powerhouse Center DeMarcus Cousins. Who is a younger and more dynamic two-way big in the league.
DEMARCUS COUSINS REBOUNDING FROM INJURY
Although Cousins is recovering from a severe achilles injury obtained on January third of this year. He seems to be working diligently in his rehabilitation and could return to the floor by December or January. The Warriors can afford to retain Cousins from playing until he’s fully recovered. This sets up an ideal way to work on team familiarity and learning the system in practices and from the bench. He will also have an opportunity to build a solid relationship with Coach Kerr and his team-mates before he even sets foot on the court as the newest member of the Golden State Warriors.
COUSINS VALUABLE ASSET
DeMarcus won a gold medal as a member of the United States National team in 2014. He won his second gold medal with Team USA in 2016 at the Summer Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro.
* 4X NBA ALL-STAR (2015-2018)
* 2X ALL-NBA SECOND TEAM (2015 & 2016)
* NBA ALL-ROOKIE FIRST TEAM (2011)
Cousins also can be strong on both ends of the floor. He’s a fierce competitor, strong defender and can shoot from anywhere on the floor. This will give the Warriors a definitively stronger unit than they already were. This was a very sound decision by the Warriors General Manager Bob Meyer.
