Chris Paul To Re-Sign With The Houston Rockets
Chris Paul ended up getting what he wanted in free agency after all. Paul landed a four year, $160 million deal to stay with the Houston Rockets. Paul asked for it and now he got it. Just being one win away from the NBA Finals, the Rockets front office believes he’s a key piece to winning it all. Being out games six and seven with a hamstring injury, had he played, some believe they would have dethrone the Golden State Warriors.
With Trevor Ariza signing with the Phoenix Suns, this signing had to be done. At 33 years old, he’s still a major factor of being a contender. “ UNFINISHED BUSINESS” as Paul wrote on his Twitter account, he averaged 18.6 points and about 8 assists per game. That means Paul is going to make $44 million in the final year of his deal. The Rockets are taking a huge risk on giving him this kind of money.
They’re also going to need to find a way to re-sign their big man Clint Capela. Seems like they’re truly out for revenge and are wasting no time trying to back to the western conference finals.. With the Paul signing, the Rockets are heading in the right direction.
