The 2019/20 Bundesliga season gets on the way with Bayern Munich hosting Hertha Berlin at the Allianz Arena.
The Bavarian side are still attempting to pick up several signings. However, Nico Kovac seeks to start this season better than he did last year.
Meanwhile, the Die Alte Dame seeks to earn a safety middle of the table standing and not end up in regulation.
Despite losing to Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup, Bayern are expected to go all out to keep the Bundesliga crown in the Bavarian capital and win it for a ninth consecutive season.
Hertha, however, has taken points off Bayern in each of the last three seasons.
Team News
The arrivals of Benjamin Pavard, Lucas Hernandez and Ivan Perisic give the Bungesliga champions a new and renewed look.
The new faces come to lift the absence of legendary players Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery and James Rodriguez.
Javi Martinez is the only player that will not feature for Kovac due to injury. Additionally, the Croatian newcomer Perisic will serve a one-game ban due to cards accumulated last season in Serie A.
Hernandez has very little chance of starting after only joining the club last week. However, the World Cup winner Pavard may slip in the lineup for Jerome Boateng.
On the other hand, Ante Covic will have Dodi Lukebakio who comes as a fresh face for the visitors. He scored a hat-trick against Bayern last season while with Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Unfortunately, Hertha will be without left-back Marvin Plattenhardt will not see action due to injury. Additionally, other players that will be out is Julian Albrecht, Dedryck Boyata, Javairô Dilrosun and Arne Maier due to injuries.
Prediction & Line-Ups For Bayern Munich vs Hertha Berlin
Bayern Munich XI: Neur; Alaba, Pavard, Sule, Kimmich; Thiago, Coman, Sanches, Goretzkam Gnabry; Lewandowski.
Hertha Berlin XI: Jarstein; Stark, Rekik, Torunarigha; Leckie, Grujic, Darida, Mittelstadt; Duda; Ibisevic, Kalou.
Bayern should be able to get off to a hot start against Hertha. The champions have not lost a Week 1 match since 2002 (W14, D3).
Meanwhile, Berlin may give the Bavarians some trouble. Perhaps only enough to give them a headache but not enough to overcome the Die Roten.
