Valencia To Inquire About Mariano From Madrid
Valencia is considering Real Madrid striker Mariano for next season.
Los Ches are going to be busy this summer after a disappointing season in Champions and La Liga.
Valencia boss Marcelino feels the striker could strengthen his team’s attack should they reach the Champions at the end of this season.
Diario AS reports that both Mariano and his representatives are aware of the interest from El Murcielago.
Mariano has fallen out of favor since the arrival of Zinedine Zidane. Nevertheless, he was brought to be Cristiano Ronaldo’s replacement last summer from Olympique Lyon.
The report also understands that Mariano seeks to stay in Spain this upcoming season.
He knows he will not feature under Zidane but has a chance of getting real minutes under Marcelino.
However, Valencia sits in fourth place with 58 points, same as Getafe. They will have to beat Valladolid on Saturday in order to stay there.
Otherwise they will be looking at Europa League instead, with Valencia sacking Marcelino.
Though Mariano knows he wants more playing time, he also searches to come to a team in Champions.
This season he made just 22 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid and was plagued with ongoing injuries.
