Dembele Ruled Out Against Liverpool
Ousmane Dembele’s season has been far from spectacular and many would argue he has yet to lived up the hype.
Unfortunately for him, he will miss their midweek trip to Anfield due to a minor tear to his hamstring in his side’s defeat against Celta on Saturday.
The World Cup champions was withdrawn from the match after just six minutes of play at Estadio Municipal de Balaídos.
The youngster will miss three to four weeks of action but will likely be back for the Copa del Rey matchup against Valencia.
Furthermore, he may also be available should Barcelona reach the final of the UEFA Champions League.
The setback is certainly frustrating for Ernesto Valverde ahead of Liverpool. However, Philippe Coutinho will certainly start alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez on the front side. The Brazilian striker has manage to play well at times despite his down year.
This is the third injury this season for Dembele. Additionally, this is the second this season related to the biceps femoris.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have injuries of their own with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino both injured.
