Manchester City battles Brighton on Saturday in their quest for an unheard quadruple of trophies.

The winner of this match places themselves in the final set for Saturday, May 18.

Additionally, there are no more replays in which a team could draw and force a second game. All these games are being held at Wembley Stadium with extra time and penalty kicks as necessary.

The Blues are on top of the league table after defeating Cardiff 2-0 on Wednesday. However, Liverpool has taken control of first place momentarily after Friday’s 1-3 win over Southampton.

Meanwhile, are coming off a 3-0 thrashing defeat at the hands of Chelsea in Premier League action. Needless to say but this Brighton team isn’t being given much of a chance to pull a shocker.

Team News

Pep Guardiola will be without left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabian Delph due to injuries. Sergio Aguero is line to return to action after sitting out City’s match against Cardiff.

Meanwhile, Chris Hughton has doubts over winger Solly March due to calf problems. Jurden Locadia will also be assessed before the game.

Predicted Lineup

Manchester City XI: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Danilo; Bernardo, Fernandinho, Gundogan; Sterling, Aguero, Sane.

Brighton XI: Ryan; Montoya, Dunk, Duffy, Bernardo; Propper, Stevens, Bissouma; Knockaert, Murray, Jahanbakhsh.

Prediction

It is certain that Brighton will not try to go toe to toe with City. However, they may raise to the occasion as they have nothing to lose.

For Manchester City, this should be a transition match. Nevertheless, don’t doubt for a minute Brighton will put up a fight to reach the final for the first time since 1983 when they reached the final against Manchester United and lost.

Prediction: Manchester City 2 – 1 Brighton
