Arsenal will be without the suspended Lucas Torreira. Additionally, Nacho Monreal returned from to training after hurting his right calf. Aaron Ramsey is expected to start for Arsenal boss Unai Emery.

Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck are all unavailable due to injuries.

The visitors will not count with Scott Langstaff and Rob Elliot who are dealing with long term injuries.

Previous Encounters

Arsenal have won their last six matches in Premier League action against the Magpies. The Gunners have scored 18 goals while conceding just five.

However, Newcastle beat the Gunners 2-1 at St. James’ Park last season.

Predicted Line-Ups

Arsenal predicted XI: Leno; Sokratis, Koscielny, Monreal; Maitland-Niles, Guendouzi, Ramsey, Kolasinac; Ozil; Lacazette, Aubameyang.

Newcastle predicted XI : Dubravka, Yedlin, Lejeune, Lascelles, Dummett, Ritchie, Hayden, Ki, Almiron, Perez, Rondon.

Match Prediction

Arsenal are returning to action after one of their best weeks this season. The Gunners beat the streaky Manchester United side to move to fourth place. They then turned around to defeat Stade Rennais 3-0 which cemented them into the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Newcastle has performed better since the arrival of record signing Miguel Almiron. The Paraguayan has added a much needed creativity to Rafa Benitez’s side.

However, Benitez’s men will likely sit back and wait for their opportunity.

Their previous encounter ended with a 2-1 victory for Emery’s men. This clash could see a similar outcome.

Prediction: Arsenal 2 – 1 Newcastle
