SmackDown Recap for the February 19, 2019 Episode of SmackDown Live

The First Hour

The show opens with Shane McMahon in the ring. Shane says the NXT Superstars that debuted last night will be back later in the night.

The Miz makes his way to the ring. He says he’s sorry for interrupting, but he has something he needs to tell Shane. Miz says he feels guilty about losing the SmackDown Tag Team titles at Elimination Chamber. He admits he is using Shane to make his father proud of him. He tells Shane he’s thankful for making him prove himself to his dad, then asks for a rematch for the tag titles.

The Usos come out onto the stage. They say Miz and Shane can forget about a rematch, but they won’t want one anyway because Miz is a joke.

Shane makes the rematch official for Fastlane.

One on One: Aleister Black vs Andrade

Result: Black pins Andrade

  • Black hits the Black Mass and pins Andrade for the win

Backstage, Dasha Fuentes is talking with Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano. Dasha asks them if they can keep up with the hype. Ciampa says he will continue raising expectations. Gargano says he’s going to show the world he and Ciampa are the future.

The Bar cut in. Cesaro says no one cares who Ciampa and Gargano are. Ciampa says they’re to be taken seriously. Cesaro and Sheamus laugh them off and walk away.

In a different part of the arena, AJ Styles tells Jeff Hardy that he’s willing to let bygones be bygones for the sake of their match later in the night. Kofi Kingston, while Xavier Woods carries Big E like a baby, extends a literal olive branch covered in pancakes. The five of them share pancakes.

Two on Two Tag Team: #DIY vs The Bar

Result: Ciampa pins Cesaro

  • Ciampa hits a Springboard roll-up for the win

The Second Hour

Asuka makes her return to SmackDown Live. In-ring, Dasha Fuentes asks Asuka if she feels lost in the shuffle. Asuka says she’s ready for a new challenge. She reminds everyone she’s beaten both Charlotte and Becky before. Asuka asks who is ready for a match with her.

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville interrupt. Rose says Asuka’s upset because no one is paying attention to her. Mandy says if anyone is ready for Asuka, it’s her.

Women’s One on One: Asuka vs Mandy Rose

Result: Mandy pins Asuka

  • Lacey Evans, in the middle of the match, walks down the ramp, turns around, and leaves without saying anything
  • Mandy fakes an eye injury, then rolls Asuka over for a leverage pin and wins

In the women’s locker room, Jane Doe asks Charlotte if Becky Lynch’s actions will haunt her throughout the road to WrestleMania. Charlotte says that if Becky attacks her again, she’ll have her thrown in jail. She says that, whether people want it or not, the RAW Women’s championship match will be one-on-one.

Miz tells Shane that his dad will be ringside at Fastlane.

One on One: Ricochet vs Eric Young

Result: Ricochet pins Young

  • Ricochet hits a standing Shooting Star Press
  • Ricochet wins with the 630 Senton

In Gorilla position, Dasha Fuentes interviews the New Day. Xavier Woods says Kofi’s rise has been building for the last eleven years. Kofi says this last weeks has been very special for him. He says that nothing would be possible without Big E and Xavier.

6-Man Tag Team: Kofi Kingston, AJ Styles, and Jeff Hardy vs Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, and Samoa Joe

Result: Kofi pins Bryan

  • Before the match, Daniel Bryan compares himself to Joan of Arc and Socrates, but no one in the audience would know who they are because they aren’t mainstream celebrities. He says that he serves a higher purpose, and that’s why he won the Elimination Chamber on Sunday
  • Kofi pins Bryan for the win

After the match, Shane McMahon names Kofi Kingston as Daniel Bryan’s opponent for Fastlane.
