Arsenal Pick Up Denis Suárez From Barcelona On Loan
The out-of-favor Barcelona midfielder Denis Suárez is set to join Arsenal.
Additionally, the Spanish international will be on loan until the end of the season with the Gunners having the option to purchase the player.
The Catalan side will received 2.5 million euros for the loan. However, they will have to negotiate a fee for the player at later time.
In addition, Suárez and Barcelona managed to agreed on a one-year contract extension. Keeping the player until 2021 instead of 2020.
The Catalans did not want to be in a similar situation as Munir El Haddadi. The player recently made a move to Sevilla but the team will not receive anything in return given his contract runs until the end of the season.
For Arsenal
For the Gunners, they will obtain a player with Premier League experience having spent time with Manchester City.
In addition, Suárez has also played for Arsenal boss Unai Emery. He was able to gain regular playing time under the Gunners current boss.
However, this may be just a short-spell with the English side. Emery confirmed that the club would not be making any permanent signings during the winter transfer window. Something that has been heavily criticized by the fans.
Nonetheless, the club is expecting to make some deals in the summer as they will receive a new £300 million kit deal with Adidas.
With Henrikh Mkhitaryan injured, Suárez will have to battle for a flank position with Alex Iwobi.
Unfortunately for the player, he has struggled to gain any confidence from Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde. Perhaps a reunion with Emery will help the player stay fit and ready for a move to another club next season.
