Two NXT Superstars Released from Contract; Performance Center Signee Quits
ProWrestlingSheet is confirming NXT and NXTUK Superstars Nick Miller and Tucker have been released from their WWE contracts. WWE Performance Center talent Taishan Dong reportedly quit also.
Nick Miller
Miller came into WWE alongside Shane Thorne with a lot of hype. Known as “The Mighty Don’t Kneel” in their homeland of Australia, Thorne and Miller already had a pretty sizable fan base. Their tenure as TM-61 was unsuccessful. Unfortunately, an injury to Thorne took away most of their momentum. Returning as “The Mighty’ didn’t exactly help their momentum loss, but they did seem to be back on the same stride as before the injury.
With Miller’s success on the indie scene before joining WWE, he should have no issue gaining his past popularity back.
Tucker
Tucker, a Northern Irishman, competed in both WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournaments. He was mainly used as an enhancement talent with the new NXTUK brand.
The exposure he received in NXTUK should help his image now that he’s back on the Irish independent wrestling scene.
Taishan Dong
Taishan Dong, who is a seven-foot undefeated Chinese boxer, had an unbelievable amount of excitement behind him when he signed with the WWE back in July. With his popularity in China, he could have helped WWE expand their brand in Asia.
Unfortunately, due to unknown reasons at this time, Taishan Dong has quit his contract with the WWE. What he will do now that he is no longer under contract is up for speculation. Most likely though, he may go back to the world of professional boxing.
